KLM PEARL EXPEDITION INDONESIA TO CARIBBEAN FOR BUCCAMENT BAY RESORT
In July 2007, SongLine Yachts & Haji Andi Achmad Nur started construction on this 38 meter replica of a 18th Century Pirate Ship for the UK based company Harlequin Properties.
The vessel KLM Pearl will be associated with Harlequin’s new hotel “The Buccament Bay Resort” on the Caribbean Island nation of St. Vincent & The Grenadines. This hand constructed traditional wooden replica vessel, only somewhat similar to a 18th Century Pirate vessel was launched at the end of the month of April 2008 from a beach in Tanah Beru, South Sulawesi. Following six months of additional outfitting the vessel Pearl and her Indonesian crew will now set sail from the port of Makassar for her envisioned one year voyage east to her new home at the Buccament Bay Resort in the Caribbean.

Well, I bet anyone that follows this one, thinks we ended up in the Bermuda Triangle......be assured this is not the case, but the lovely KLM Pearl did make it to the Carribean but caught fire on arrival due to some one starting a GENSET after a New Orleans SURVEY said not to ! That unfortunate event sent our lovely PEARL to the Penalty Box, where she is still presently sitting !

KLM Pearl in New Orleans with little problem laid at anchor for about 3 months and in June she was moved to Alabama to dock in Bayu Labre. She was antifouled and now is awaiting clear weather to make her last run to SVG
Well the voyage of the Pearl is about to go into WARP SPEED as she is about to be loaded to a cargo vessel in Singapore with a destimation of New Orleans. We need to find a DOCK Facility in New Orleans that can haul this vessel for recaulking and antifouling. Does anyone have a contact in the area of New Orleans LA.
