Latex paint over epoxy?
Paul Oman from Progressive Epoxy joined WoodenBoatBlog.com and he said he was experimenting with Latex paints. I'd already read some of what he was doing and it's interesting. Here's a little bit of our conversation posted to the forum for others to read and comment on...

I read your other posts on using latex. My Tolman has latex topsides and still looks great after 3 summers of use. It's not a high gloss finish but it is not cracking or peeling and it's doing a great job of protecting the wood.
I used Basic No-Blush + System III primer + then sanded the primer to get it good and smooth, then a coat of LATEX primer and then the final coats of latex, semi-gloss, 100% acrylic deck enamel.
I used the same formula for the sides with the exception of the final topcoat being Interlux Brightside single-part polyurethane. I find that latex primer is a great primer as everything sticks to it and it seems to stick to everthing. I could have gone with a two-part finish coat on the sides but I wanted the easy touch up that comes with the single part paints.
I'll start a forum thred for latex paints and let's see what others have to say.
;-) Paul
